Class A2 Village

Seven villages entered this class. Two won bronze, two silver, two silver gilt and one gold medal. The Gold award and the Wansbeck Trophy went to Earsdon.

Earsdon is a most attractive ex-mining and farming community. It is extremely well kept by an enthusiastic population who work very closely together in order to maintain an excellent standard of tidiness and cleanliness, together with stunning floral impact. Villagers are rightly very proud of their village. They are to be praised for the way they have overcome the devastation left by an unusually fierce storm only four days before summer judging.
