Class A1 Small Village

There were seven entries again this year.  Four received a Silver award and three Gold.

The winner of the BBC Radio Newcastle Trophy for the fourth year running was Stanghow.  Great Whittington won Gold and also a Silver Gilt award in the national Britain in Bloom competition.

The judges found Stanghow to be an excellent small village entry.  The spring daffodil displays, both in quality and quantity, were superb and drew everyone's attention to the village.  The residents' gardens and the grass cutting were of a very high standard.  The community's support would be very hard to fault.
