Villages
Here are some of the entries to Northumbria in Bloom for Villages with extracts from the judges' comments.

Villages are classed according to their population size.
Class A1 Small Village
There were seven entries again this year. Four received a Silver award and three Gold.
The winner of the BBC Radio Newcastle Trophy for the fourth year running was Stanghow. Great Whittington won Gold and also a Silver Gilt award in the national Britain in Bloom competition.
Class A2 Village
Eight villages entered this class in 2011. One won bronze, three silver, one Silver Gilt and three Gold medals. The Gold award and the Wansbeck Trophy went to Moorsholm.
Class A3 Large Village
There were fourteen entries. Six won Silver, four silver gilt and four gold. Warkworth again won the Cameron Trophy for the best large village and also was awarded Silver Gilt in the national Britain in Bloom competition.
