Sir Nicholas Beaumont

We were saddened to hear the news that Sir Nicholas Beaumont has been killed in a car crash. Sir Nicholas, or Nicky as he preferred to be known, was a committee member and senior judge for many years with Northumbria in Bloom. He was a true gentleman, always good company for his fellow judges, and popular with the people he met when he was judging. He retired from Northumbria in Bloom some years ago, but maintained his interest in the competition and was a frequent guest at the Inaugural meetings and Awards ceremonies. We will remember him for his equanimity, loyal support and generosity of spirit. We shall miss his cheerful company.

There will be a Memorial Service in Hexham Abbey at 3.00pm on Thursday 14th July.
